Located in western region of Negeri Sembilan, to the east of Seremban and Rembau, lies one of Negeri Sembilan's main local attractions - Port Dickson. In the early 1890, the Secreatary of te Federated Malay State, Sir John Frederick Dickson, recommended the construction of a railway track between Sungai Ujong and Pulau Arang, to accommodate the transportation of commodities such as rich, tapioca, pepper and charcoal. The railway track was built in 1889. With the improvement of its inland transportation facility, the area attracted many ships to its harbour, bringing in various commodities to Sungai Ujong. With the expansion of the harbour, Sir Frederik Dickson was given the honour of proclaiming the district after his name. It was the historical moment in the birth of Port Dickson. The Port Dickson Beach Port Dickson is synonymous with tourism. The main attraction here is the beautiful, clear stretch of beaches facing the shimmering blue sea. It's indeed a remarkable experience to remember, especially during the picturesque sunset. Teluk Kemang Beach Teluk Kemang Beach is the most popular resort amongst tourists and visitors, especially during weekends and on public holidays. The 1.8km. Stretch of beach is regularly visited by 20,000 - 30,000 people weekly and the number increases to 50,000 - 80,000 during long holidays. Lukut Fishing Kelong For fishing enthusiasts, a visit to the Kuala Lukut Fishing Kelong is a must. Situated at Kuala Lukut, Chuah, it is located nearby the Sungai Lukut estuary. Fishing is also allowed at the jetty a of Kampung Kuala Lukut and around the Fishermen's Depot. Lukut Museum and Fort The Lukut Museum exhibits Lukut historical events dating back from the early 19th. Century till the time Lukut was merged into Daerah Sungai Ujong (Negeri Sembilan) in the year 1880.
