The club’s history can be traced back to the army who maintained Garrison in Port Dickson, for many years cince 1961 when the Garrison golf course was first build, it helped to keep army officers and local golfers at ease with simple straightforward cow grass ninehole layout.

But eventually as the number of golfer increased, some senior army officer left the need for a bigger and better golf club. By later in 1992, a completely new layout was built and with it came a new name . Port Dickson Golf & Country Club.

On September 26, 1992 Port Dickson Golf & Country Club was officially opened by the 9^th King, Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Dipertuan Agong. Sultan Azlan Shah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Yusuf Izzudin Ghafarullahu Lahu Shah.
